West Chester Public Library is located at 415 N. Church Street in the borough of West Chester, the county seat of Chester County, Pennsylvania. West Chester’s Borough Council appoints members of the library board, seven of whom – out of the 13 members – must reside in the borough. The borough also assists in maintenance of the library.

Public school students who reside in the borough are served by the West Chester Area School District. Our town is also home to West Chester University, the largest of the 14 state universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, which is located in the borough as well as in two adjacent townships, West Goshen and East Bradford.
