The Children's Department is on the second floor, featuring lots of picture books, beginning readers, chapter books, graphic novels, and fun things to do while you visit.

at the library
The library is located at 415 N. Church Street (the corner of North Church St. and West Lafayette St.) in a residential area of the Borough of West Chester. Parking options near the library are:
NORTH CHURCH ST (two way):

Library side (East) – Parking is unrestricted other than no parking Monday 8 – 11 am. A Handicapped Parking spot is immediately in front of the library.

Side opposite the library (West) – Parking is unrestricted other than no parking Tuesday 8 – 11 am. A Loading Zone spot directly across from the library can be used for quick visits to the library to pick up books on hold, etc.
WEST LAFAYETTE ST (one way):

Library side (South) – No parking

Side opposite the library (North)- Parking is available for any two-hour period Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (other than no parking Monday 8 – 11 am), and all day on the weekends.
WEST BIDDLE ST (one block south of W. Lafayette St., one way):
Both sides of the street - Parking is restricted to those with a residential permit 8 am – 5pm but is unrestricted after 5 pm.
WEST MARSHALL ST (one block north of Lafayette St, two way):

North side of the street - Parking is unrestricted.

South side of the street - No parking.
NORTH HIGH ST (one block east of Church St., two ways):
West side of the street only (adjacent to the block on which the library is situated) – no restrictions.

Maggie Stanton

A warm welcome to our new Executive Director, Maggie Stanton!
Maggie Stanton has worked in the Chester County Library System since 2009 after completing her MLS at Drexel University. She started as a part-time circulation assistant at Phoenixville Public Library and was eventually promoted to Circulation Manager. In 2017, she was hired as the Library Director at Malvern Public Library and came to West Chester Public Library in May 2024.
Like all librarians, she loves to read in her spare time, cooking, spending time with her family, and photography.
Clara Kelly
Youth Services Librarian
Clara Kelly has served as the Youth Services Librarian at the West Chester Public Library since 2018, but has been working at the library since 2013. She was promoted to Youth Services Librarian from her previous position as the Teen Program Coordinator. She has a BA in English from West Chester University and an MLS from Clarion University. She enjoys young adult fiction, audiobooks, and a good murder mystery.
Hannah Siegele
Assistant Director & Adult Services Librarian
Hannah Siegele has served as the Assistant Director and Adult Services Librarian at the West Chester Public Library since 2018, but has been working at the library since 2016. Before working at the West Chester Public Library she worked at the Chester County Library for seven years as a circulation assistant and served on the XYZ Committee which focused on programing for ages 18-40. She enjoys audiobooks, fantasy books, and true crime podcasts.
Meghan Dougherty
Teen Program Coordinator
Meghan Dougherty has served as Teen Program Coordinator at West Chester Public Library since 2023 but has been working at the library since 2021. She was promoted from her previous position as Library Assistant II. Before working at the West Chester Public Library, she worked at the Downingtown Library as a circulation assistant. She has a BA in English with a focus in identity and representation from West Chester University. She enjoys young adult fiction, audiobooks, and Rom Coms.
